Portfolio: Final Post

Final blog post

Welcome all who come to this happy place!

For my final project in my digital media FMX210A course I created a portfolio. This portfolio is going to act like a time capsule for all of my artwork created in the fall of 2019. This final portfolio project is to be created in InDesign. Instead of just using someone else’s InDesign portfolio template, I decided to take this final project as another art opportunity. I looked online at examples so I knew what an art portfolio was supposed to look like and then was inspired to create my own. I wanted to create a simple portfolio so my art could really be highlighted and jump off the page. I chose a simple and concise color palette of white, black, and pink. To create this portfolio I had several different pages in InDesign, I placed photos in boxes, filled boxes with a solid color of black or pink, and filled boxes with text. Every page has page numbers, a title or section, and an artist statement to coincide with my artwork. After putting this entire portfolio together I realized how much work I have created this semester. Having a creative and artist outlet this semester really helped me get through my most demanding and challenging semester yet.

Thank you so much for reading the past couple of months. I hope to create more as time goes on.

See ya real soon.
Best,
Carley Heskett

  1. Incredible job, I know you work hard on the projects and that can easily been seen. In your work, the ethic and understanding of the material is evident. Fantastic job, very clean, organized, and aesthetically nice to look at. Good work.

  2. Amazing portfolio! The development you made from start to finish was great, but all work you did was awesome. My favourite piece you did was the Photoshop task of you on the Christmas tree, really thought it was creative and fun.

  3. The portfolio looks amazing! The page designs are subtle, and are also present enough to give a nice professional feel! Amazing work all semester long, and this portfolio continues that! I especially think the font choice is great, and complements the work well!
